Homelessness project
Targeted Grants to Tackle Homelessness in Kent
Kent Reliance Community Foundation is inviting registered charities to apply for funding to support projects addressing homelessness in Kent.
This focussed funding campaign supports charitable activity that prevents or relieves homelessness, or provides direct support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Trustee Foreword (Andy Golding)
Homelessness remains one of the most complex and pressing challenges facing communities across Kent. It affects individuals and families in different ways and requires a range of responses, from early intervention and prevention through to crisis support and longer-term stability.
Through this focussed funding campaign, the Trustees of Kent Reliance Community Foundation aim to support registered charities delivering charitable activity that prevents or relieves homelessness, or supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness within Kent.
We recognise that effective work takes place at many levels. By offering grants of any amount up to £100,000, we seek to support both small, targeted projects and larger programmes where there is a clear case for need, impact and public benefit.
All applications will be carefully considered by the Trustees against the published criteria. As funding is limited, we regret that we will not be able to support every application.
We are grateful to the charities working tirelessly in this area and thank all applicants for the vital work they do to support people and communities across Kent.
Funding Available
Charities can apply for grants of any amount up to £100,000.
We recognise that meaningful impact can happen at every level, from small, targeted interventions to larger, established programmes.
Funding is limited and not all applications will be successful.

To be eligible, applicants must:
-
Be a registered charity

-
Be delivering activity that prevents or relieves homelessness, or supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
-
Be able to demonstrate how the proposed project aligns with their charitable purposes and provides public benefit

What We Are Unlikely to Fund
To help charities decide whether to apply, the Foundation is unlikely to fund:
-
Organisations that are not registered charities
-
Projects that are not based in Kent
-
Activity that does not directly address homelessness, including prevention, relief, or support for people who are homeless or at risk
-
General core costs or unrestricted funding where a clear link to homelessness outcomes cannot be demonstrated
-
Activities that are the statutory responsibility of local authorities or other public bodies
-
Retrospective funding for costs already incurred
-
Fundraising events or sponsorship activity
-
Projects that primarily promote religious or political activity
-
Applications where the funding request is disproportionate to the scale, need or expected impact of the project
This list is not exhaustive, and meeting the criteria does not guarantee funding.
How Decisions Are Made
All applications will be assessed against the published criteria.
Funding decisions will be made by the Foundation’s Trustees, who will prioritise applications based on need, impact and alignment with the focus of this campaign.
The Trustees’ decisions are final.
